Transformer Protection NSR-378

NSR-378 transformer protection are designed for the protection of two-winding transformer, three-winding transformer or auto-transformer for 35kV-1000kV voltage level, or a shunt reactor which provides up to 36 analog input channels including current and voltage inputs. NSR-378 provides differential protection and backup protection, which are configurable by user. Auxiliary functions of fault diagnostic, disturbance records, event records and communication function are integrated in the device.

  • High-performance hardware platform and modularized design, fault detector AD element + protection AD element. Fault detector element manages fault detector AD element and protection AD element manages protection calculation. Their data acquisition system is completely independent in circuit. DC power supply of output relay is controlled by the operation of fault detector element, which prevents maloperation due to error from ADC or damage of any apparatus.
  • Adopt intelligent design, amount of input and output modules and module slot position are configurable. User can increase or decrease the amount of AC input module, binary input module and binary output module, and terminals of those modules can be defined according to actual requirement. Besides, configurability is also reflected in software design of equipment, which means that user can hide the protective element not used.
  • Boasting high-speed 40-point sampling per cycle and real-time parallel calculation. All the protection logic measurement & calculation could be done within one sampling period, as well as the real-time process of fault reports and event recordings.
  • The device comprises the fully enclosed case and the modules. The module is designed in term of weak electric isolated from strong electric. This design improves the capacity against electromagnetic interference, and complies with the European Commission Directive and International Electrotechnical Commission on EMC.
  • Y->Δ vector group compensation, adopted phase segregated inrush current restraint, not with cross-block. Waveform distortion comprehensive criteria
  • Equipped with the following characteristics: 2nd harmonic content; whether the waveform is discontinue or not; Inrush current waveform is relatively thin and the waist slope is higher.
  • The setting of inrush current is relatively simple, just needs the second harmonic blocking value, the others are ensured by software calculation and logic of the protection device.
  • The typical trip time for differential protection is less than 30ms (two times of differential current value), for instantaneous differential protection is less than 20ms (two times of differential current value).
  • Fault component differential elements for fast tripping.
  • Asynchronous anti-saturation algorithm is used to prevent mal-operation.
  • Advanced and reliable power swing blocking releasing which ensure impedance protection operate correctly for internal fault during power swing and prevent impedance protection from maloperation during power swing.
  • Powerful VICT tool can fulfill protection configuration, modify settings and transfer fault record.
