Arrester for A.C. Power Transmission Lines

Polymeric metal oxide arresters for AC power transmission lines (hereafter “arresters”) are shunted to insulator strings, combining the arresters’ voltage-time characteristics with insulator strings’ voltage-time characteristics. When the line receives a lightning impact (either shielding failure or back flashover), arresters will behave reliably to protect the line insulators, reducing the probability of transmission line tripping, and improving the reliability and cost effectiveness of the power transmission system.

  • Ambient temperature shall be in the range of -40°C~40°C;
  • The altitude above sea level shall not exceed 1000m;
  • The maximum wind speed shall not exceed 35m/s;
  • The earthquake magnitude of the region shall be lower than Grade VII;
  • The ice cover thickness shall not exceed 2cm;
  • The sunlight radiation shall not exceed 0.1w/cm2.
    If the requirements above can’t be met, the buyer and the supplier shall negotiate for custom design of the equipment.
